Hi all,

Cutting to the chase, here is the bit most seem to be concerned about
TAKEN FROM THE RSDL LICENSE AGREEMENT
Obtaining a Commercial Licence
You can obtain a Commercial Licence by either:
(i) complying with all of the Special Notice Requirements described below; or
(ii) paying us a fee of £1000 in respect of each piece of Content. This fee will become due on release of the content and must be paid within 14 days of release and in any event within 14 days of receipt of an invoice from us.
The “Special Notice Requirements†are the following requirements:
(i) that, no less than two weeks before finishing or distributing any Content, you notify us of the nature of the Content. Such notice shall include a full description of the Content (including any location, route, and rolling stock); and
(ii) that you provide us with any additional information about the Content, or copies or extracts of the Content, which we may require within five days of our request.
We may waive the requirement to pay a fee or to meet any of the Special Notice Requirements on a case-by-case basis at our sole discretion. For further information please email support<at>railsimulator.com.
So lets clarify a few things to help you all out.
+ These terms apply to Commercial Developers only.
+ This does not encompass download sites, as they are not producing the content in the first place. This includes community CD's as they are simply an alternative access method to the same free content.
+ The Special Notice Requirements in plain english are: Tell us about your product two weeks before you release, and respond within 5 days to any questions we have there after.
+ If you abide by the above point, there is NO FEE TO PAY.
+ We want to know whos doing what with regards commercial products. We may even advertise those products on the official site if we see fit!
+ If you DO NOT want to talk to us, or let us know about your product coming out, then you must pay £1000.
+ Donationware arrangements are covered in the very last paragraph - Where we suggest getting in contact with us to discuss your intentions.
So put simply - Send us some information about your product two weeks before it hits the shelves, and we wont charge you a penny. How bad is that?
I would like to ask that we do not discuss Item 5.4 in this thread, as that will require clarification from some people that have gone home for the night! We will be able to provide better understand of term 5.4 tomorrow.
Cheers
