Zu Mittag des 6. 12. nahm ich den Bus 270 von Haywards Heath Richtung East Grinstead um zum einsam in der Landschaft liegenden, aber grossen Zwischenbahnhof Horsted Keynes der Bluebell Museumsbahn Sheffield Park - Horsted Keynes - Kingscote zu gelangen.

Kaum angekommen, rollte auch schon BR 4MT 80151 2-6-4T (gebaut in Brighton 1956) von Kingscote kommend mit einem "Santa Special" ein

An dem Tag verkehrten exklusiv "Santa Specials", die nur eine Rundfahrt von und nach Sheffield Park anboten, deshalb war praktisch nichts los am Zwischenbahnhof, auch Fotografen sah ich dort an dem Wochenende nur eine Handvoll, trotz Spitzenwetters. Man konnte jedoch einen Wagen auch mit normalen Tickets benutzen.

Um die Ecke bog, noch etwas in der Steigung, S&DR 7F 53809 2-8-0 (Robert Stephenson & Co. Ltd #3895, gebaut 1925)

Etwas Richtung Sheffield Park fand ich eine Wiesenstelle, leider aber wieder der absolute Morast. Dafür dampfte GWR Large Prairie 5199 2-6-2T (Swindon, gebaut 1934) die Steigung hinauf

... und am nächsten Vormittag, 7. 12., erwartete mich GWR Dukedog Class 9017 "Earl of Berkeley" 4-4-0 (gebaut in Swindon 1938) mit dem "Golden Arrow" Pullmanzug, welcher noch zwischen den Santa Specials verkehrte
